Beginning 04:53
Life is but a vapor See there? You know So make it count Write it out on paper Reap what you sow Only this sounds Like I am my own savior nailing my story Upon my own tree in all it's glory Shine bright my only Maker This evil will not be down deep inside of me Come now and make me see Oh the joys of being young You're ten years old you live life as you please Then one day it all has gone Life slips up and it's my turn to leave It feels like a midlife crisis at twenty-seven Not calling this sin selfish ambition Small reckless child might mind when nobody listens Pays no attention doesn't remember The rite of passage life is, she begins then ends Fast forward moments that we are given Until we see what Christ is, Beginning and End Ruler of all men, perfect without sin Oh the joys of being young We're just children playing Fox and the Hound Reading books in my mother's lap Laying in that green Georgia grass

Pearl Dragon 05:09
Somehow the phrases of the story Will find a way to let you down Bought all our prayers and sold our glory To make a movement make a sound So let's begin listening To all the thoughts breaking in And let our mouths make some sense 'Til it ends 'til it ends And she reminded me How the days they melt away Looked like a fly and spoke like a dragon To make the smoke slowly exhale So let's begin listening To all the thoughts breaking in And let our mouths make some sense 'Til it ends 'til it ends Until it ends until it ends Until it ends until it ends Let them in let them in Until it ends until it ends

Breathless lies I let in Helpless my mindset is So tell your heartbeat fight until the end Failure walks beside such ill weak men I might be paralyzed just from fear While I stare at eyes under here I have hope only when I can sleep Shadows hold me still and I can't sleep These shadows hold me still and I can't sleep It seems my soul's still spinning Hoping when He makes this crooked path Straighter than the last I will rest

20/20 04:52
(I can't help it) There's a sadness, from some past sin Makes me something I never thought I would be Preach this madness, sing this sad hymn Maybe happiness was never meant for me. (God help me please?) Filled with substance, drowned in comforts Lies that tell me I'm present when I am not Feel this presence, surrounds us constant Tries to tell me again and again but I... But I'm not listening, I'm spent I want to stay numb, I want to fit in Such thoughts keep twisting my mind it's bent Ignorance is bliss. Ignore all of this. (I can't help it) He offers peace says, "I'm the true way." "Call my Name and you'll never know loneliness." "Mend the pieces, it's a new day!" What I'd say if I only thought hope exists... But I'm not listening, I'm spent I want to stay numb, I want to fit in Such thoughts keep twisting my mind it's bent Ignorance is bliss. Ignore all of this.

Blame 04:06
Swimming in pools of doubt I wonder what to care about The story is written as I walk across the page The evening glows with copper rays The morning swears to better days I'll run to find them if I do I'll bring them back to you Darling won't you talk to me? Tell me why my piece was missing Let me hear what I know again I was so blind I almost saw The reason that I had to call you And as it fades a phrase remains And on and on and on and on it goes Don't blame your brother Blame it on another man Don't blame your father Blame it on another man Don't blame your lover Blame it on another man
6.
Burj Khalifa 05:49
What snares Are you hiding Out there In your onyx Desert Thorn? I'll bet Here in Georgia We've got The appropriate Response I am unable To bring myself to my knees I cannot bow down to what I see God let me listen To choirs of all Your children sing And face to the ground My voice will join the singing Hallelujah!
7.
Purgatory 03:53
Infinite, this type of love Innocently dreaming of This intimacy, right and good Even if misunderstood Suspended in time and space Must it end? Thy warm embrace My love, my wife, my Emily I trust this life will end just perfectly For having known your love has made me see No other man could possibly be this happy No other man could possibly be this happy No other man could possibly be this happy No other man could possibly be this lucky
8.
Downing 03:36
Staring into some devil Filling that empty vessel Do you see that in the time you've taken Only moments in the script you're making Do you not see that your role's observing Repetition of the lines I'm learning They who dwell in dark, decay Echo! Downing... All accomplishments, I will bury In this hollow earth, I will plant my worth

He gave them two sons like they prayed for, both sent from above The first spoke in tongues and the second sang in anthems They could not want more so thankful for this sweet family But He wanted them to know the heartache that was Emily "Everything happens for a reason!""But damn this is hard." "This pain will last only a season be strong and take heart." "Twenty-Two times we have been reminded and had to ask, why?" "This perfect Creator would take her, create her to die." Remember this, your innocent angel's with Him. "Why her Lord?" (My stillborn) She is His fifth, pure dissonance Tangled with her minor chord (Cry no more) "Your grief was a gift to Myself that you both had to face. Belief and such trust in My help gave you hope, gave you Grace To realize in time you'll reunite with sweet beauty divine In paradise, just not in this life, she's always been Mine." Remember this, your innocent angel's with Him. "Why her Lord?" (My stillborn) She is His fifth, pure dissonance Tangled with her minor chord (Cry no more)

Are your sorrows giving way? To make the problem and the pain Make it easy, pace the change Save it for when we really need it We made the problems You made the names Showing emotion Is knowing gain Gone tomorrow I will be Making sure I'll never need you Let your words forever cease Exiting the soul that breeds them You make the problem I'll make the pain Show some emotion The feeling fades

I saw the planets I heard the stars I felt the black water holding all the lighted orbs Measuring time All the movements of everything In perfect rhythm The universal symphony And just a note Can one atom bring I want to praise my Creator For letting me sing Hallelujah! Worthless indeed they are The ideas I claimed Dull years of learning how to propagate The lesser names My emptiness grows So that I might be filled By some hope beyond the close horizons of The planet I'm in I Am within me I am not He Only a vessel longing to repeat The Master's hymns Hallelujah! I am unable to bring myself to my knees I cannot bow down to what I see So God let me listen To choirs of all Your children sing And face to the ground My voice will join the singing Hallelujah!

Might as well face it they know. our only response is to give in. whats the difference even if they win? Are we still waiting for it The final war to end our sentence oh patiently time will teach them Its overwhelming understanding what to do with what we have what we know Right is wrong when all we are is what we do and what they say let them be.

about

Haedes began creating these songs 12 years ago. We've re-written and destroyed and rebuilt all of them so many times throughout the years. This is the result. We hope that they can mean as much to you as they do to us.
